Obtain Login.gov Individual Account Credentials

Sept. 10, 2024

As of March 24, 2025, individuals must present individual account credentials obtained from Login.gov—a secure sign-in service of the U.S. General Services Administration that employs multifactor authentication—to access the dashboard on the EDGAR Filer Management website.

The individual authorized to enroll in EDGAR Next must possess Login.gov individual account credentials to access the EDGAR Filer Management dashboard to perform enrollment.

As of September 15, 2025, the EDGAR Next compliance date, individuals will be required to present Login.gov individual account credentials to access the EDGAR Filing and EDGAR Online Forms websites, as well as the EDGAR Filer Management website. At that time, individuals must present Login.gov individual account credentials to file on EDGAR and to manage the filer’s EDGAR account on the dashboard.

Pursuant to the EDGAR Filer Manual, Volume I , Login.gov individual account credentials are for the use of the individual who obtained them and identify the individual taking action on EDGAR. Individual account credentials must not be shared with other individuals.

Individuals may obtain Login.gov individual account credentials on the EDGAR Filer Management website following these instructions. For additional guidance, view the Obtaining individual account credentials instructional help video.

1. Navigate to the EDGAR Filer Management website.

2. Select Sign in with Login.gov. You will be redirected to Login.gov to create individual account credentials.

3. Select Create an account on the landing page of Login.gov, as depicted in the screenshot above.

4. Follow the instructions on Login.gov to create an account—enter your email address, create a password, and select a multifactor authentication method.

  • You should provide an email address to Login.gov that you intend to use to log into EDGAR, which may be different from the email address that you use for personal purposes. Use the same email address to obtain Login.gov individual account credentials that you provided on Form ID, during enrollment, and/or to account administrators.
  • This email address must be an individual email address (not a group email box that allows the email address to be used by others). This email address will be used to identify you on EDGAR and send you EDGAR notifications. It will also be visible to others on the EDGAR Filer Management dashboard.

5. After you obtain Login.gov individual account credentials, select Agree and continue. You will be redirected to the EDGAR Filer Management website.

6. Log in to the EDGAR Filer Management website using your Login.gov individual account credentials and complete multifactor authentication. After you log into the EDGAR Filer Management website, the dashboard will display.
