EDGAR Form N-MFP1 XML Technical Specification (Version 1.1)
Implementation Date: June 13, 2016
The EDGAR Form N-MFP1 XML Technical Specification (Version 1.1) document details the valid structure and content of the Form N-MFP1 Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval (EDGAR) Extensible Markup Language (XML) submission types. This specification provides, to those filers that are interested, the basis for creating Form N-MFP1 XML submissions. The expectation is that software developers, working on behalf of filers, will be able to construct software that will generate a Form N-MFP1 XML submission that can be successfully processed by the EDGAR system.
The N-MFP1 submission file must conform to the EDGAR N-MFP1 Submission Taxonomy for the EDGAR system. This taxonomy is comprised of a collection of XML Schema Definition (.xsd) files that defines the structure of EDGAR N-MFP1 submissions. The N-MFP1 XML submissions can be transmitted to the SEC via the 'Transmit' link on the EDGAR FilerWeb (https://www.edgarfiling.sec.gov/) or the 'Transmit XML Submission' link on the EDGAR OnlineForms/XML Website (https://www.onlineforms.edgarfiling.sec.gov).
On June 13, 2016, EDGAR Release 16.2 introduced the following changes:
- In section 3.4, the max length for the element “numberOfSharesOutstanding” has been changed from 14 to 16. Filers must report at least two decimal places, but this also allows filers to report with up to four decimal places for shares outstanding on items A.17 and B.4.
- In section 3.4, the elements “totalValueDailyLiquidAssets”, “percentageDailyLiquidAssets”, and “dailyLiquidAssetSecurityFlag” for Item A.13 part a, Item A.13 part c. and Item C.21 have been changed from mandatory to optional.
- In section 3.4, the data type for the element “totalValueOfFundPosition” was changed to static, and thus removed from the table.
- In section 3.2, added the constraints for “decimal”.
