Division of Economic and Risk Analysis (DERA) Job Application Tips
These tips are designed to give you the best chance of being considered for a position in DERA

Describe your duties and accomplishments on your resume ― don’t just list job titles
Demonstrate that you have the specialized experience specified in the vacancy announcement. Descriptions of your current and past jobs should reflect this specialized experience
List the months and years that you started and ended jobs to get credit for all your experience and for salary determination
While answering questions on USAJOBS, do not refer to your CV/resume; you must answer every question fully
Submit transcripts (official or unofficial)from all universities and colleges attended for both undergraduate and graduate studies Failure to submit this with your application will automatically disqualify you
Note: Foreign transcripts you submit must be accompanied by a foreign credential evaluation
List full names and contact information of all your professional or personal references
DERA Fellowship
If you are applying for a DERA fellowship
Submit a job market paper or significant writing sample Failure to submit this with your application will automatically disqualify you
List your citizenship status on your application To apply and be considered for a position, you must be a U.S. citizen
Current Federal Employees
If you are a current Federal Employee
Submit your most recent SF-50 that shows your 1) name, 2) job title, and 3) grade level
Follow all other requirements applicable to the position you’re applying for
Visiting Scholar
If you are applying to be a Visiting Scholar at DERA
Submit a job market paper or significant writing sample Failure to submit this with your application will automatically disqualify you
