SEC Interactive Data Test Suite Update 29-141217
Jan. 16, 2015
The interactive data test suite located at http://www.sec.gov/spotlight/xbrl/interactive_data_test_suite.shtml has been updated. For a summary of changes, see the change log on the last page of the summary file (http://www.sec.gov/info/edgar/ednews/efmtest/efmtest-29-141217.pdf). The test suite has been updated to reference the 2015 US GAAP taxonomy and the 2015 EXCH taxonomy and to remove references to the 2013 versions of those taxonomies.
Comments on the test suite may be submitted using the comment form at https://www.sec.gov/forms/contact_dera by indicating “Interactive Data Test Suite” in the subject field. The purpose of the public test suite is to assist developers of software that must validate Interactive Data prior to its submission to EDGAR. The test suite consists of many small Interactive Data instances, schemas, and linkbases that are categorized as to whether they violate a validation check, and if so, what validation check they violate and whether that would result in a warning or in an error that would cause the Interactive Data to be rejected.
The updated test suite reflects what the staff anticipates will be EDGAR-acceptable taxonomies after all the 2015 changes have been implemented. The staff does not anticipate that the 2015 taxonomies will be available before March 2015. Further, the staff anticipates that the removal of the 2013 US GAAP taxonomy and the 2013 EXCH taxonomy will be scheduled for an EDGAR release date consistent with past removals.
This update to the test suite does not indicate Commission approval of any potential regulatory changes related to the EDGAR Filer Manual. Please refer to the SEC’s EDGAR webpage at http://www.sec.gov/info/edgar.shtml for updated information on when the Commission approves changes, if any, related to the EDGAR Filer Manual.
