XBRL Taxonomy Update, March 6, 2017

On March 6, 2017, the EDGAR system was upgraded to Release 17.0.3 and now supports the 2017 US GAAP, 2017 COUNTRY, 2017 CURRENCY, 2017 EXCH, and 2017 NAICS taxonomies. The 2017 US GAAP financial reporting taxonomy reflects the same taxonomy that FASB made available on its website on December 15, 2016, modified for two documentation label changes. Refer to the 2017 GAAP Financial Reporting Taxonomy Release Notes for details of the changes. The 2017 COUNTRY, 2017 CURRENCY, 2017 EXCH, and 2017 NAICS taxonomies reflect the same taxonomies the staff posted for public comment on September 8, 2016. The staff does not anticipate that the removals of the 2015 US GAAP financial reporting taxonomy, the 2016 COUNTRY, the 2016 CURRENCY and the 2016 EXCH taxonomies will occur before June 2017.

Please see http://www.sec.gov/info/edgar/edgartaxonomies.shtml for a complete listing of supported standard taxonomies.

The staff strongly encourages companies to use the most recent version of taxonomy releases for their XBRL exhibits to take advantage of the most up-to-date tags related to new accounting standards and other improvements. The staff suggests that filers consider transitioning to the 2017 taxonomies for the earliest reporting period that ends after March 6, 2017, but not for reporting periods that end before March 6, 2017.
