Proposed Amendment to Rule 102(e) of the Commission's Rules of Practice
Overview
The Securities and Exchange Commission ("Commission') is proposing an amendment to Rule 102(e) of the Commission's Rules of Practice. Under Rule 102(e), the Commission can censure, suspend or bar persons who appear or practice before it. The proposed amendment clarifies the Commission's standard for determining when accountants engage in "improper professional conduct' under Rule 102(e)(1)(ii).
