“I’ve always been interested in technology, finance, law, and government/governance. There aren’t too many opportunities for lawyers to pursue a career that combines all these interests into one position. In my time in the Division, I’ve had the opportunity pursue these interests while working on cutting edge legal and regulatory matters in a rapidly changing financial marketplace brought on by new technologies.”

“I joined the SEC for an opportunity to make an impact in public service and to learn about the government aspect of the investment management industry. The issues my colleagues and I analyze day-to-day are challenging and I enjoy knowing that our work at the SEC is critical to individual investor experience. The people at the SEC are incredibly smart, diligent and passionate about their work."

Assistant Director

“I came to the SEC excited by the opportunity to help ensure that people are able to invest with confidence to meet key financial goals, like saving for retirement or paying for their kids to go to college. I’ve stayed here for more than 10 years because of the collegial atmosphere and a culture that allows me to balance my career ambitions with personal interests like being active in the lives of my young children (such as coaching their sport teams).”

Who Works in the Division?

The Division includes over 200 employees and interns from a diverse range of backgrounds.
