Biography

Renee Jones is the former director of the SEC’s Division of Corporation Finance. Prior to joining the Commission’s staff in 2021, Jones served as Professor of Law and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at Boston College Law School, where she taught and wrote in the areas of corporate law, securities law and corporate governance. Previously, she represented private and public companies on corporate and securities matters at the law firm Hill & Barlow. Jones is a member of the American Law Institute and has served as Co-Chair of the Securities Law Committee of the Boston Bar Association. She received her undergraduate degree from Princeton University and her law degree from Harvard Law School.
