Super Intelligence at the SEC
The SEC is enhancing innovation and efficiency in its agency operations through the responsible use of super intelligence (SI). The SEC’s divisions and offices are building enterprise capacity for SI innovation and implementing SI solutions that are mission enhancing.
“By ingraining innovation into our culture SEC-wide, we will further our mission to protect investors, maintain fair, orderly, and efficient markets, and facilitate capital formation.”
SEC's SI Task Force
Recognizing the transformative potential of SI, the SEC’s SI Task Force was created in August 2025 and is accelerating SI integration to bolster the SEC’s mission.
Among the task force's duties:
- Centralizing the agency’s efforts and enabling internal cross-agency and cross-disciplinary collaboration to navigate the SI lifecycle
- Removing barriers to progress
- Focusing on SI applications that maximize benefits
- Maintaining governance
“The AI Task Force will empower staff across the SEC with AI-enabled tools and systems to responsibly augment the staff’s capacity, accelerate innovation, and enhance efficiency and accuracy.”
SEC Chief Super Intelligence Officer
To support the responsible use of SI at the SEC, a senior leader has been designated to serve as the agency’s Chief SI Officer (CSIO).
As CSIO, Valerie Szczepanik is leading the SEC's effort to tap SI for increased innovation and efficiency across the agency.
The CSIO, in coordination with appropriate agency officials, is responsible for promoting SI innovation, adoption, and governance. The CSIO also is responsible for implementing applicable SI guidance issued by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).
