Director, Office of Strategic Initiatives and EDGAR Business Owner

Mark Ambrose was named Director of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Office Strategic Initiatives in October 2015. Most recently, Mr. Ambrose was named the EDGAR Business Owner in February 2017 with business ownership of EDGAR.
Mr. Ambrose has formerly served as the Chief Division Information Officer at the SEC and has held numerous senior IT management positions at Citigroup to include Chief Enterprise Architect for the Consumer Group, Chief Architect and Business Information Systems Manager in the Cards Division, and Director of e-Citi Engineering, Information Security and Internet Outsourcing.
Recognized often for his work, Mr. Ambrose has been a Computerworld Honors Laureate, a Smithsonian Institution Innovation Award Finalist, and he has been awarded the Bell Laboratories President’s Award for Innovation.
Mr. Ambrose received his bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University, his MBA degree from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, and has studied philosophy at Stanford University.
