Alta G. Rodriguez was named Director of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Office of Equal Employment Opportunity in April 2010 after serving as its Acting Director.
Prior to coming to the SEC, Ms. Rodriguez was the National Diversity Initiatives Manager for the U.S. Postal Service, where she led a network of 130 diversity specialists serving approximately 700,000 postal employees nationwide. In that role, she was responsible for monitoring compliance with applicable EEO laws, developing and implementing best practices in the areas of diversity and inclusion, and managing national diversity programs focused on creating an inclusive workplace and marketplace.
Ms. Rodriguez received her bachelor’s degree from Smith College and her law degree from the UCLA School of Law.
