New Employee Orientation

June 21, 2024

Welcome to the SEC!

You are about to embark on an exciting new chapter in your career with the Federal Government. Whether you are entering civilian service for the first time, returning after a break-in service, or transferring from another Federal agency, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) strives to ensure a successful transition to the Commission.

This website includes instructions for your first day of duty. It also provides valuable information regarding your employment with the SEC as well as the necessary forms you will need to complete during the onboarding process. The topics highlighted below will prepare you for your first day of employment with the SEC and offer a guide on what to expect during New Employee Orientation (NEO).

Before Your Start

  • Ensure you have completed your necessary forms in the Entrance on Duty System (EODS)
    • EODS accounts are only active for 90 days after your entrance on duty and there are some personal email systems (e.g., Gmail) that are not accessible from the SEC network
  • Read and review all of the information presented on this webpage under each topic
  • Bring all completed forms and identification documents with you when you report for duty
  • Visit our website for additional information about the SEC

Employment Forms

Forms To Be Completed BEFORE Orientation

This section contains a list of all new hire employment forms. Based on the nature of your appointment with the SEC, your Human Resources (HR) Specialist will advise you on the specific forms you will need to complete. All new SEC employees must complete applicable employment and benefits forms prior to reporting. These forms are to be submitted through the Entrance on Duty System (EODS) in which you should have access. If for some reason you were not provided access to EODS or you no longer have access to the system, please immediately contact your HR Specialist.

Please make sure you complete all applicable forms and submit them in EODS (or as otherwise instructed by your HR Specialist) in a timely fashion.
