Variable Insurance Product Data Sets

The Variable Insurance Product (VIP) Data Sets provide the text and numeric information extracted from Forms N-3, N-4 and N-6 – the registration forms for variable annuity contracts and contracts offering Index-Linked Options and/or Fixed Options subject to a contract adjustment – filed with the Commission in eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL). Filers prepare these submissions using the Variable Insurance Product Taxonomy and Taxonomy Guide, which are available and periodically updated at https://xbrl.sec.gov/vip/.

The VIP data sets are presented in a flat file format to assist users in constructing the data for analysis. The data has been automatically and directly taken from submissions created by the registrants and provided as filed with the Commission. The data sets will be updated monthly.

NOTES:

In June 2026, the following updates have been applied:

• All the files have been refreshed. The Contract field in the num and txt files has been updated to include additional Contract IDs where previously empty.
• Multi-instance filings will only have one record for the primary instance in the sub file.
• The monthly 2025 VIP data set files have been consolidated into a single 2025_vip file.
