On June 6, 2012, the Commission instituted and simultaneously settled proceedings against OppenheimerFunds, Inc. and OppenheimerFunds Distributor, Inc. ("Respondents"). The Commission found that Respondents violated the federal securities laws by providing a misleading prospectus and making misleading statements in the midst of steep declines in late 2008 of two fixed income retail mutual funds managed by OppenheimerFunds, Inc. The Commission required Respondent OppenheimerFunds, Inc. to pay disgorgement of $9,879,706, prejudgment interest of $1,487,190, and a civil money penalty of $24,000,000 and created a Fair Fund pursuant to Section 308(a) of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, as amended. On July 6, 2012, the Commission issued an order appointing Damasco and Associates as the Tax Administrator. See the Commission's order: Release No. 34-67363.

On March 14, 2013, the Commission issued an order appointing Epiq Class Actions & Claims Solutions, Inc. as the fund administrator and approving the fund administrator's bond amount. See the Commission's order: Release 34-69138.

On December 18, 2013, the Commission issued a notice of the proposed plan of distribution and opportunity for comment and simultaneously provided a link to the proposed plan of distribution. The notice provided persons 30 days to submit their comments on the proposed plan of distribution. On February 5, 2014, the Commission issued an order approving the plan of distribution. See the Commission's order: Release No. 34-71493, and the plan of distribution: Release No. 34-71493-pd.

On July 29, 2015, the Commission issued an order directing the disbursement of $34,427,424.90 to Huntington Bank to be distributed to investors in accordance with the plan of distribution. See the Commission's order: Release No. 34-75551.

On November 4, 2016, the Commission issued an order to disburse an additional $7,760,008.76 as a second distribution to investors in accordance with the approved plan of distribution.  See the Commission’s order: Release No. 34-79247.
