It irritates me to think that large brokerages are advertising on television and consumer magazines as trusted advisors and potentially not responsible to the SEC for their actions just as independent advisors are. The large firms are not using advice as incidental to their practice Please get back to the level of the AVERAGE AMERICAN CONSUMER and listen to the big firms marketing Im sure you watch TV and see magazines in your drs office - how can you interpret their advertising to ADVISE as incidental? ALL true financial planning and investment advisory needs information gathering, goals discussion, recommendations, and in some cases implementation by the advisor - this process should be justly and equally regulated - and I believe that is the job of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Please dont let the public down
