Dear Sir or Madam,
I urge you to withdraw the proposal S7-25-99. As a former employee of a major wirehouse firm and current independent CFPtm certificant, I am strongly opposed to establishing two sets of standards for investment advisors. In my opinion, it is not in the best interest of the investing public to permit two separate standards for advisors. It is confusing enough for consumers to make choices among the myriad of financial planning professionals, brokers and advisors without creating different standards depending upon the type of firm with which one is affiliated. I strongly urge you to withdraw this proposal.
Regards,
Cheryl Carrington
