I depend on market data produced by the stock exchanges to guide my investments and economic well-being. I access market data via the internet and newspapers. The markey data should be readily available to everyone just as voting in political elections is available, without cost. Market data should not be available only to or through professionals and institutions at a price. Restrictions on account size and commission costs make it difficult enough for the small investor to supplement income and prepare for retirement without having to pay for information from the exchanges on the stocks listed on them.
