The proposed rule which increases the limits of an "accredited investor" is, from my prospective, merely an effort to disenfranchise the INDIVIDUAL INVESTOR from the fruits and influence of modern finance. It's as simple as that.
I do not believe for a second, that the existing restrictions, even if they can be justified, are not sufficient. The real design of this rule, in my opinion, is to weaken the economic influence of these funds and the INDIVIDUAL INVESTOR.
