I strongly oppose the proposed rule changes for the accredited investor - changing the rules will prevent many investors the OPPORTUNITY to invest in a pre-public investment.. startups, oil gas, real estate...
The real problem is proper diversification ---
Limit the amount an investor can invest in any one investment..ie limit the exposure to any one investment.
5% (or 10%) limit - Maximum Allowable Investment - the investment can not exceed 5%(or 10) of the investors assets(or investments)

Please don't change the rules - your Net Worth is not a proper way to measure your investment knowledge.
The government should not limit our choices but help us manage the risk.

sincerely,

Richard Ruskey
