I am opposed to the temporary rule as written. I do not think it serves the public or the emerging profession of financial planning to allow commissioned salesmen and women to hold themselves out as Financial Counselors Financial Consultants, or what have you, and not have them held to a fiduciary standard.

Anything less only serves the brokerage industry, not the public who ought to be able to rely on professional designations and fiduciary standards of care when consulting with financial planners.
