Gary IllianoPartner, Grant Thornton LLPGary Illiano is the Partner in Charge of Accounting and Auditing for Grant Thornton LLP. Gary represents the U.S. Firm on the Grant Thornton International IFRS Interpretations Group. He provides consultative services to the U.S. Firm and clients on IFRS matters and GTI member firms on IFRS/U.S. GAAP-related issues. Gary is the former Chair of the American Institute of CPA’s Independence-Behavioral Standards Subcommittee and is a panel member at Nasdaq listing qualification hearings. He is a former member of the AICPA’s Professional Ethics Executive Committee and SEC Regulations Committee, as well as several other AICPA task forces. He was formerly Editor of the SEC Advisor column in the CPA Journal and a member of its editorial board. Gary was previously a Senior Staff Accountant at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and a Project Manager for the AICPA. He is also a former Adjunct Professor of Accounting in the Lubin Graduate School of Business at Pace University. Gary received his MBA from Pace University and his BA from San Francisco State University. Licensed in New York, he is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the New York State Society of CPAs.
