To Whom It May Concern:

I am a registered representative and principal with my broker-dealer. I am sending this email to communicate my opposition to additional suitability requirements for the sale of tax-deferred variable annuities. I do not believe that a special requirement for this product is needed when there are existing suitability requirements for general securities. There is no question that VA sales must be supervised for the benefit of policyholders but for sales that are unsuitable, the existing rules are more than sufficient and just need to be enforced. Thank you for letting me comment.
