I am a licensed insurance professional and variable product salesperson who already submits to oversight on all sales to clients. The newly proposed legislation duplicates existing rules and regulations. Additional layers add unnecessary layers of cost, time and wasted energy for those of us trying to do a great job for our clients.

I understand that the abuses are less than 1/2 of 1%, which while still too much, those who want to cheat and get around the rules, will do so anyway. If caught, they will be subject to already-in-place punishment.

Please continue to be vigilant and punish abusers to the maximum, but don't add another layer of time and waste to an already complicated landscape of regs.

Thank you for your consideration.
