Date: 12/16/1999 7:39 PM Subject: Proposed Regulation FD I totally support the initiative to open up information disclosure of financial information that previously was the hid from individual investors by brokers and analysts. Individual investors, which includes today in the US, a growing older generation of American with substantial financing resources who can put this information to good use in managing their stock portfolios with and without the services of full service brokerages. This is a trend that is growing with the ageing of the "baby boomer" generation that will come on strong within the next 5 years. The Internet provides a valuable service to all Americans today. Mom & Pop operations as well as individual investors can profit with fuller disclosure of information that can be judged to be accurate. Every day we read in the media where organizations have cooperated with companies to hide divulged information that may represent problems with a company or some breaking news that could be profitable to all with the knowledge of what will transpire. It is not fair that brokerage analysts meet with companies in secret who then advise their major clients and institutions of these secret events so that their clients can take action to buy or sell their holdings before the news becomes public. Keep up the good work toward full disclosure. Sincerely, Ben Mabry 30 Year Federal Government employee and Investor for retirement income. USDA
