Date: 12/16/1999 5:48 PM Subject: Comments on "Proposed Regulation FD" I believe SEC Chairman Levitt is correct with the "Proposed Regulation on Fair Disclosure" act. We need this legislation. As Chairman Levitt states "the basic principle of fairness deserves no less." Please look at the release from Lehman Brothers concerning Sprint PCS (Ticker: PCS) on 12-16-99. I think this will provide proof that the playing field is titled to the brokerage houses advantage. Clip from the Motley fool article: http://www.fool.com/news/1999/foth991216.htm?ref=fwec In the words of the SEC, "The Commission has become increasingly concerned about the growing incidence of 'selective disclosure' of material corporate information. In many reported incidents, companies selectively disclosed important information -- such as upcoming earnings figures -- in conference calls or meetings that are open only to selected securities analysts and/or institutional investors, and which exclude members of the public and the media." Sincerely, Scott Gillen Spokane, Washington Small investor with no professional affiliation. Disclosure: Invested in Sprint PCS since Nov 1998.
