As a practicing financial planner, I must adhere to standards of conduct based on the CFP Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility. In the absence of such standards, those purporting to be financial planners would be able to provide advice that was unregulated and not within the norm. Simply withdraw the Proposed Rule.
