From: David Jones [dtjones@hbeck.com] Sent: Thursday, June 27, 2002 4:45 PM To: rule-comments@sec.gov Subject: File No S7-25-99 It is hard for me to imagine that you would consider allowing broker dealers to offer comprehensive financial planning advice without being subject to registration under the Investment Advisors Act of 1940. It becomes harder in light of todays problems with accounting irregularities. Your repsonsibility is to protect consumers. History will not treat you kindly if this approved I'm sure. I am requesting that you do not approve this rule as a consumer and a licensed representative who does not want his reputation tarnished by the actions of the few people who will take advantage of this proposed rule. Thank you for your consideration.
