Your agency, in charge of safeguarding the public confidence as much as possible, are proposing to exempt broker-dealers from RIA registration? Are you people asleep at the wheel or what? i am writing to you as a former registered rep (former member of the broker-dealer community) and presently a fee-only RIA. comprehensive financial planning or any professionally-delivered subset thereof is given under fiduciary standards. It is our professional mission as investment advisors to cultivate an atmosphere of trust, confidence, and objectivity in providing these services. To loosen regulatory requirements for some practicing in the field and not others is reprehensibly biased and creates a very uneven playing field. I cannot express strongly my perspective that you are shirking your duties as watchdogs. The money and influence of the broker-dealer community should hold no weight compared to your given mission. craig limoges CFA, CFP, EA _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com
