Date: 1/5/98 3:13 PM Subject: S7-25-97 Arthur Levitt Securities and Exchange Commission 450 5th Street, NW Washington, DC 20549 I am concerned about S7-25-97. It seems it would prevent stockholders from giving important feedback to the companies they share. It is essential that shareholders be able to comment on fair labor practices or we will find ourselves living in even less a democracy than we do now. I am very concerned about the direction this country is moving and see this initiative as a move to disinfanchise interested parties in quality of life factors that are essential to our progress as a nation and as a leader for the world. What message would this send to developing countries? Is this a message you personally want sent? Please record my response as opposition to S7-25-97. I will await your response. Sincerely, Nancy H.
