However it falls far short of creating a situation in which the shareholder owners can truly claim ownership of their company. The shareholders should be able to put forth their nominees in any year, not just the year after a triggering event. Michael Eisner's pitiful 57% support still allows him to control Disney. Why should we have to wait another year for him to make decisions that are contrary to the best interests of the shareholder owners? Had the shareholders had an opportunity to put forth their own nominees, the outcome might have been different. The incumbent board has absolutely no right to occupy seats unless they are actively supported by the shareholders. It's time to get rid of these clubs and install overseers who are more than rubber stamps. John R. Haaf
