Ladies & Gentlemen of the SEC,

The Motley Fool organization has made me aware that the SEC is presumably going to make a token move toward giving the stockholders of the US a chance to effect the governance of the companies they own stock in. Well hoorah! Like where have you been for the last hundred years. And the general opinion seems to be "It's not much but it's better than the nothing we've had until Elliot Spitzer came along." So let's get with the program folks and do something for the people that furnish your paycheck.

It just gravels the hell out of me that you nail Martha Stewart to the wall for selling a few shares of stock due to maybe or maybe not having some inside knowledge all of which hurt no-one and you let these corporate thieves and their boards of directors off with not even a slap on the wrist for having stolen or allowed to be stolen billions of dollars of stockholders money, which incidentally included some of mine.

I'm telling the various candidates that I consider voting for in our government that if they will try to get Spitzer appointed head of the SEC I will vote for them for sure.

Sincerely,
Donald L. Cochrane
