Date: 06/28/2000 12:19 PM Subject: File No. S7-09-00 Gentlemen: Regarding the proposed rule to require mutual funds to disclose after-tax returns based on standardized formulas comparable to the formula currently used to calculate before-tax average annual total returns, I would like to add my $.02. The proposal reminds me of an old saying that figures don't lie but liars figure. Given the size of the mutual fund industry in this country and it's impact on investors, I support any proposal that will help investors get to the truth about investment returns. Many of the funds would like to hide their poor performance from investors, but I think that performance should be readily available for all to see. Thanks. Al Perna
