Subject: Financial Privacy Date: 09/15/2000 10:36 AM Dear Rule Maker: I understand that there is a new rule(s) about privacy information held by financial institutions. I looked at some of it and there are pages. But it left out the following: No financial institution should be allowed to profit (either directly or indirectly form a closely held company) from sharing customer information. If you put this in the financial institutions will no longer have an incentive to share the information. I oppose the joint effort sharing loophole. The argument that Information should be shared on searching for heirs etc would be covered by the above . Thank you Gary Haas
