CEO's of publicly traded companies just can't be trusted to act in the long-term best interests of employees and investors anymore!!! I see very few of them being prosecuted for the lifetime damage and ruin that they have caused in people's lives and I have heard that the Enron-type fraud that is continually being exposed is considered to be an inherent part of everyday life on Wall Street. So, why would I want them to be able to pick and choose their own Board of Directors??!!
