Recent revelations regarding improper behavior and "generous" salaries of CEO's has made me more aware than ever of the minimal input shareholders have in the governance of the companies we own. The choice to approve or disapprove management's proposed slate of directors once per year is just one example of the lack of power that shareholders have. I applaud the fact that the SEC is willing to review its rules to see how investors can receive greater protection from entrenched management, and a more powerful voice in the companies we own.
