To the SEC:
 
My husband and I have pension funds, mutual funds and other investments in the 
stock market.  We have been very concerned about the corporate scandals and CEO 
excesses that have come to light during the past few years.  We think the SEC 
should improve the proxy rules so that shareholders are better able to  oversee 
the companies they own.  In particular, shareholders themselves ought to be able 
to select their corporations' directors.  
 
Thank you for soliciting comments on this matter and for being willing to review 
the proxy rules.
