In a time when the slightest whisper can cause a market downside, but a rockect to mars of positive info can't cause an upswing, short selling is wrong. robert p trexler 36 lobachsville road fleetwood pa 19522 610 682 6070 bobbobt@aol.com In this article, "return of fear", everything said is probably true, but still is based more on individual belief than actual fact . I am sure there was a lot of fresh money assisting in this latest recovery, but i would like to see the available evidence indicating how much of the recovery can be attributed to buying to cover. What occurred after 9/11 and the major bottoming of the markets had the same effect on those who specialize in shorting stocks as our bombing of Afganistan. You could say that the Shorsters ran out of targets, or better yet, the markets ran out of targets. Now that the markets has come back, how much has the short selling increased, particularly on Fri? Does anyone have the guts to report this? Targets of opportunity, are once again available to the, self appointed gaurdians of the markets, who use the defense that they perform a patriotic duty to weed out the bad companies by selling short. What a bunch of bull, or more accurate, what a buch of bear crap. Those who sell short at this time, are using the very present fears, anxiety and the deep uncertainty, haunting every American at this time, to increase their personal gains. They sell short and sit back and possibly even pray for the next terrorist shoe to drop, dreaming of the huge profits they will gain from this suffering economy. They are, truely, economic terrorists and the practice needs to be stopped during this emergency.
