It was a busy trip that started in Little Rock, where the SEC's Advocate for Small Business Capital Formation, Martha Miller, met with a range of entrepreneurs, investors and leaders from the Arkansas startup community. There they discussed the benefits and challenges of starting businesses in America’s heartland, and detailed what’s working and where there’s room for improvement as they build their businesses. Next, Ms. Miller visited Pine Bluff to participate in the Rural RISE 2019 Summit that focuses on empowering leaders in rural communities across the country. Throughout the trip, Ms. Miller talked with many diverse and vocal entrepreneurs and investors who were eager to share their feedback and learn more about the SEC.
