Scaling, June 28, 2016
In XBRL data, all numbers must be reported in their entirety without a scale factor. We have noted instances where filers include in their XBRL data numbers scaled with an incorrect number of zeros, for example, where a filer reports 35 (in millions) in their HTML filing, but enters 35 or 35000 instead of 35000000 in the XBRL data. Filers should carefully review their XBRL data to ensure scaling accuracy. See EFM 6.6.31 and Staff Observations and Guidance for more information.
