Removal of Investment Schedule (INVEST) Taxonomies

As part of the Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval (EDGAR) release, currently scheduled for March 9, 2020, the EDGAR system will no longer support 2012 and 2013 INVEST taxonomies. The INVEST taxonomies were intended for use in the voluntary filing program which has ended and filers using these taxonomies received validation warning messages from EDGAR.

Filers may find Section 2.4 in the 2019 U.S. GAAP financial reporting taxonomy release notes useful as it lists six elements added in 2019 that were comparable to certain commonly used INVEST taxonomies elements. Filers are encouraged to review the six elements in the 2019 U.S. GAAP financial reporting taxonomy to determine if they are appropriate replacements for structuring disclosures that may have previously been tagged using the INVEST taxonomies.
