SEC, SEN. MOSELEY-BRAUN, AND CFTC TO HOST SYMPOSIUM ON
            CAREER OPTIONS FOR MINORITY STUDENTS


     Washington, D.C., February 17, 1998 -- Securities and
Exchange Commission Commissioner Isaac C. Hunt, Jr., joined
by Senator Carol Moseley-Braun and Brooksley Born,
Chairperson of the Commodities Futures Trading Commission,
will host a "Symposium on Career Options for Minority
Students in the Securities and Commodity Futures Industries"
in Chicago, Illinois on Thursday, February 19, 1998.

     At the Symposium, leaders in the securities and
commodity futures industries will share their experiences and
discuss career paths available to students.  Symposium
attendees will also have an opportunity to participate in a
variety of small group discussions with industry leaders.

     The Symposium will be held at Northwestern University
School of Law, 375 East Chicago Avenue, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Attendance is free but seating is limited.
