   INTENTION TO NOMINATE PAUL CAREY AND LAURA UNGER AS SEC

     Washington, D.C., September 18, 1997 --  Arthur Levitt,
Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission,  said, "The
Commissioners and I are pleased that President Clinton announced
his intention to nominate Paul Carey and Laura Unger as
Commissioners of the Securities and Exchange Commission.  We look
