FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 2001-58 MARGARET HENRY APPOINTED ATTORNEY-FELLOW IN OFFICE OF MUNICIPAL SECURITIES Washington, DC, June 1, 2001 -- The Securities and Exchange Commission's Division of Market Regulation today announced the selection of Margaret C. (Peg) Henry as an attorney-fellow in the Office of Municipal Securities for a two-year term beginning June 4, 2001. Ms. Henry's broad experience in municipal securities--in the private practice of law, federal and local government, and investment banking -- will be an asset to the Commission. Previously, she headed the public finance group of the international law firm of Torys. Among other positions, she has also been a partner in Mudge Rose Guthrie Alexander & Ferdon, an Attorney-Advisor to the U.S. Department of Treasury, Tax Counsel to the Majority Tax Staff of the Committee on Ways and Means of the U.S. House of Representatives, a Managing Director in the Public Finance Department of Salomon Smith Barney, and Tax Counsel to the Office of Management and Budget of The City of New York. Martha Mahan Haines, Chief of the Office of Municipal Securities, said, "Peg's extensive experience in a number of capacities with a wide variety of public finance transactions will be a tremendous asset to the Commission as we work with the municipal finance community and provide municipal market expertise to other offices and divisions within the Commission."
