UNITED STATES SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION Litigation Release No. 15570 / November 24, 1997 SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION v. INTEGRATED WASTE SERVICES, INC., Civil Action NO. 1:97CV02801 (LFO) D.D.C. On November 20, 1997, the Commission filed a complaint in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia against Integrated Waste Services, Inc. ("IWSI"). The complaint alleges that IWSI, a Buffalo, New York-based waste management firm, failed to make available to the investing public current and accurate information about its financial condition and results of operation through the filing of periodic reports with the Commission. Specifically, the complaint alleges that IWSI has not filed its Annual Report on Form 10-K for its fiscal year ended December 30, 1996, and two Quarterly Reports on Form 10-Q for its fiscal quarters ended March 31, 1997, and June 30, 1997. The Commission seeks to compel IWSI to file its delinquent reports and to enjoin IWSI from further violations of Section 13(a) of the Exchange Act and Rules 13a-1 and 13a-13 thereunder. ======END OF PAGE 1======
