Seniors Events and Enforcement Actions
In coordination with state securities
regulators, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and the AARP, we held the agency's first Seniors Summit
in July 2006. This event and those that followed constitute one part of the
Commission's overarching initiative to protect the nation's senior investors.
With over 75 million Americans turning 60 in the next two decades,
protecting the assets and financial security of our seniors has never been
more important - and it will remain a top priority for the Commission in the
coming year.
