Viktoria Baklanova Named Senior Financial Analyst, Analytics Office

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that Viktoria Baklanova has joined the agency as a Senior Financial Analyst in the Analytics Office’s Industry Specialist Unit.
Ms. Baklanova comes to the SEC from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where she was a Counterparty Risk Senior Associate. In this role, she provided expert guidance on financial, operational, accounting, and legal principles related to money market funds. She led credit risk oversight of non-bank counterparties in the Federal Reserve’s market operations.
Prior to joining the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Ms. Baklanova was a Senior Financial Analyst at the Office of Financial Research, Department of the Treasury. She is a recognized expert in money market funds and has published numerous books and articles on the industry.
Ms. Baklanova earned her B.S. from Novosibirsk State University; her M.S. in Finance, from Baruch College; and her Ph.D. in Finance Law from University of Westminster. She also holds Chartered Financial Analyst and Professional Risk Manager designations. Ms. Baklanova will be located in the New York Regional Office.
