Holly Miller and David Stevens named Senior Financial Analysts, Analytics Office

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that Holly H. Miller and David Stevens have joined the agency as Senior Financial Analysts in the Analytics Office’s Industry Specialist Unit. Ms. Miller started this position on April 27, 2020, and Mr. Stevens started on June 8, 2020.
Ms. Miller comes to the SEC from Nuveen, the investment management arm of Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association (TIAA), where she was Senior Managing Director and Head of Global Investment Operations. In this role, she led long-term strategy and planning for investment operations across Nuveen’s twelve affiliates and day-to-day operations for six of Nuveen’s registered investment advisers. She also served on the oversight committees for Nuveen’s three largest advisers. Prior to Nuveen, Ms. Miller was Managing Director and Head of Middle-Office Outsourcing at SEI and earlier was SVP and Chief Operating Officer at M.D. Sass Investor Services, Inc. Ms. Miller has served as a consultant to large traditional and alternative investment managers through her own firm, Stone House Consulting, LLC and when she opened the New York office for Citisoft, Inc.
Ms. Miller is a co-author of The Top Ten Operational Risks: A Survival Guide for Investment Managers and Hedge Funds, has been a frequent speaker at conferences and has authored numerous articles on buy-side issues and trends for industry publications. She studied computer science at the University of Virginia. Ms. Miller also serves on the Board of Governors at Stuart Hall School, an independent boarding and day school that is part of the Church Schools of the Diocese of Virginia. Ms. Miller will be located at SEC headquarters in Washington, DC.
Mr. Stevens comes to the SEC from Millennium Partners, where he was a Portfolio Manager. His background also includes expertise in derivatives in volatile sectors. Prior to joining Millennium, Mr. Stevens was a Research Analyst at Citadel LLC and an Equity Research Associate at Goldman, Sachs and Co., first in the derivatives strategies group and later in equity research.
Mr. Stevens earned his B.A. from Dartmouth College in Economics with a minor as a War and Peace Studies Fellow. He earned his M.A. in the Mathematics of Finance from Columbia University. Mr. Stevens will be located at SEC headquarters in Washington, DC.
