Beginning with Release 8.10, EDGAR supports XBRL documents as unofficial attachments to an official submission. Although we expected the voluntary program to commence on March 16th, we expect to load the new taxonomies into the production system the weekend of April 2 - 3 and be available for filer use on Monday, April 4, 2005. Filers must use one of the US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) taxonomies, based on the XBRL 2.1 Specification, developed by the XBRL consortium as part of the basis for creating their instance document. Beginning April 4, 2005, filers may begin to reference US GAAP XBRL 2.1 taxonomies via unofficial XBRL instance documents that can be attached to their EDGAR submissions. Internal SEC validation testing of these US GAAP XBRL taxonomies, which were recently posted in their FINAL form at www.xbrl.org, will continue through March.
