Ongoing Improvements in Electronic Filing With EDGAR
Updated instructions for electronic filing on the SEC's EDGAR system related to EDGAR Release 8.2 have been included in a revised version of the EDGAR Filer Manual. The revised draft Manual is available at www.sec.gov.
In addition to various Submission Template changes noted in the Manual and at https://www.edgarfiling.sec.gov, EDGAR filers and users should be aware of the following Release 8.2 changes that will be effective at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, April 8, 2002.
- To accommodate filings by foreign private issuers and foreign governments, EDGAR will now accept a number of new form types. Filers may use these new form types on a voluntary basis.
- Form types 10-K405, 10-K405/A, 10KSB40, 10KSB40/A, 10KT405, and 10KT405/A have been eliminated. Filers that submitted filings using those form types should file Forms 10-K, 10-K/A, 10KSB, 10KSB/A, 10-KT, and 10-KT/A, respectively, in the future.
- Form types DEFS14A, DEFS14C, PRES14A, and PRES14C have been eliminated. Filers that submitted filings using those form types should file Forms DEF 14A, DEF 14C, PRE 14A, and PRE 14C, respectively, in the future.
