Date: 12/17/1999 9:34 AM Subject: Selective reporting issue I have always wondered why the brokers/analyst are provided inside information without disclosing it. It has been very disturbing, especially when investment decisions are based on current company information and plans. There is a problem with this in that companies looking for financing need to be able to discuss future plans without being the subject of law suits, since if these plans are disclosed it could encourage speculation and volatility You might want to make a provision whereby Companies and investment bankers engaged in arranging immediate, additional financing would have some protection, not much, but some. I have always wondered why companies can disclose important information to a select group and not make this information public. Thank you for setting this right. William H. Kirn
